A chair and a paravent inspired by the fundamental fashion tools: scissors, needle and thread. Two pieces of furniture destined for a young and sophisticated stylist in her thirty, who loves classical music and worldly events; she works from home, from her private and elegant office for which the two furnishings are designed.
Brief keywords: style, lightness, sinuosity.
For the chair we used one metal profile, which draws in the space the abstract version of a pair of open scissors and, thanks to its rigidity, allows the entire structure to be springy. The seat is made of braided polymer and wool threads, wrapped around both the metal frame welding point and the seatback.
For the paravent instead, the idea was to create a multifunctional screen able to support its weight while bending in a smooth hug at the same time.
To this end, a metal wire connects the extremities of a series of thin and rigid tubular elements, most of them made of transparent
PVC and containing shading-colours wool, the remaining ones made of wood. A mirror and a small blackboard adhere on the wood tubes on the inner side of the paravent.
